Sometimes I have dreams that are so fantastic (in the original sense of the word) that I’m left wondering: how could my mind have conjured up such a story?

The same goes for this account of a near-death experience by Wilson (likely a pseudonym). Either what they’re saying is true. In which case, what’s more to say. Or what they’re saying is false. In which case, what an imagination!

Reminds me of G. H. Hardy describing the extraordinary mathematical formulas Srinivasa Ramanujan had sent him:

They must be true because, if they were not true, no one would have had the imagination to invent them.
