Dimensional decoupling
We often think of happiness and sadness as two sides of a coin. Although Cobain did once remark how he missed the comfort of being sad.
Brian Lui takes it further and describes how they are separate axes which together yield a larger 2D space of possibilities:
A dimension is an attribute along which something can vary. Decoupling means separating something that is usually viewed on a single dimension into two dimensions.
Our creativity skyrockets as we learn that most of the things we assume must go together can be separated. Our analytical power and logical reasoning improve in lockstep, as we process all of the possibilities that open up.
