Antifragile
I’m going through what I hope are the most physically exhausting weeks of my life.
Decades of poor lifestyle choices have caused injuries that Ayurveda is attempting to fix. I can see light, all is well.
Now Ente is running free in my absence. The first few days were difficult because
- This was not a planned break
- There are streams for which I’m still a blocker
It is interesting how both parties, without choreography, are leveraging the separation for the greater good – reduced codependence.
As Taleb puts it in Antifragile:
Wind extinguishes a candle and energizes fire. Likewise with randomness, uncertainty, chaos: you want to use them, not hide from them. You want to be the fire and wish for the wind.
I’m fascinated by our ability to program ourselves and systems around us to be antifragile and exploit shocks.
“This too shall pass” is a comforting phrase. But being antifragile means that we don’t have to wait for hard times to pass. We can leverage the chaos while we’re in the middle of the storm.
Isn’t that beautiful?
